5 Reasons You Need A Girls Trip
We’ve all done it... imagined hoping on a flight to a sunny island just to relax and chill on a beach... laying on a comfy beach chair, sunnies on, drink in hand, and the sound of the waves quietly meeting your... just enough to make you close your eyes and smile... without kids... and that’s totally ok. It doesn’t make you a bad mom. Quite honestly, it may even make you a better mom. Here are my reasons you should take a girls trip... whether it’s just an overnight getaway to your closest fun destination or a plane ride to all things beachy, if you can, you should.
5.It’s really fun:
When is the last time you went in a girls trip? Do you remember how fun it was? Guess what, it’s still fun! We had the best time laughing, drinking, eating, and just hanging out. We went to fancy dinners, casual dinners, fancy breakfasts, casual breakfasts, drank coffee while it was hot... multiple cups. We danced! We shopped. We drank a case of claws by the pool and then napped. Yeah, napped!! And it was freaking glorious! We dressed up and wore heels and lipstick and just had fun!
4. Your kids will be just fine:
Listen, you don’t have to tell me twice about the mom guilt. To be totally honest, I considered cancelling more than once... but boy am I glad I didn’t. Did I miss my babies? More than I can even express... but guess what... we allll survived. We FaceTimed 1-2 times each day and I loved every second. I am lucky to have the support I have from my parents, my mother in law, and my husband. They came together and helped hold down the fort.
3. Sleep, showers, and HOT coffee:
Guess who laid in bed til 9am multiple days in a row with zero noise? Me! I haven’t slept past 7:15am in over 2.5 years. I just laid there. I scrolled through my phone in peace, I stared at the ceiling, I texted the girls from a bedroom away, I looked through and edited my pictures... all while just laying there... and it was fantastic. Guess who took long hot showers every single day?!? Me! And let me tell you... it was awesome AF! We drank countless cups of HOT coffee on the lanai, in the kitchen, in the car, at the cafe... and it was beautiful. The little things we take for granted pre #momlife.
2. You call the shots:
No nap schedule, no feeding schedule... heck... you can have no schedule at all! You can eat flaming hot Cheetos for dinner if you want... and I did. You can sit down at a restaurant and actually take your time... but you can also eat your food while it’s hot... with no interruptions. No rushing. No trying to keep a toddler at bay and keep your cool as they purposely throw French fries and ketchup on the floor because they can. Want to drink 2 bottles of wine and talk about your fave and least favorite fashion bloggers?... go right ahead. You can stop at every shop, bar, and restaurant. You can try on allllll the clothes. You can take 37473893 pictures... and look through them and talk about how your arm looks super fat and you have a double chin in that one so we need to take 36482838 more.. Most importantly you can have a meal sitting down... because if you are anything like me, you spend a lot of meal time standing. Gives whole new meaning to the words happy hour... because a very happy hour (or 3) it was!
1. You deserve it:
No explanation needed. Being a mom is hard work... stay at home or working. You deserve it.

Luckily, all was well at home and my gals missed me almost as much as I missed them and boy was it nice to come home to their beautiful little faces! Thank you to Rachel and Mickey for being such great friends and roomies on the trip! Thank you YFA to popping in an hanging out during your work trip! I’m the luckiest!
