Life With Brynne: A Fun December

I thought it would be impossible to top November, we had so many fun events! However, December has not disappointed! It has been just as fun and exciting! (well until recently... I found out I will be needing surgery)
We kicked off our December with our second visit to The Grove. We have been so lucky with this weather. I highly recommend a trip out to this lovely place! Located in Glenview Illinois, The Grove is just a beautiful place! We walked around and took pictures, sampled snacks, and bought a few cute gifts... Mostly for myself... Whoops!

The kids really enjoyed seeing the old house. There was a woman there giving us the scoop about this home and it's history. Really interesting!

Luckily the weather was very nice and when baby started to fuss, I just fed her right there in the open fresh air.

The kids ran around and enjoyed learning about the different way of life from the 1800s.

Next, Brynne had her first Christmas party!  We headed to Brandon's cousins house and enjoyed family, food, and fun! Baby was soooo well behaved. It didn't hurt that his cousin had a swing out ready for any of the babies. She was happy as a clam in this Fisher Price swing! This night was also a great opportunity for a family photo... My husband couldn't say no! Haha

The next weekend we hosted a little holiday brunch. I would love to say I slaved over the oven but if you know me, you know my mom was pretty much the host... I just provided the house and decor.

It was a lovely day! There was so much delicious food and almost everyone whom we invited, joined us for Brynne's first party at her house. Following the party, we headed over to a neighborhood bar to continue the merriment!

Such a fun day, we plan to host a holiday brunch every year!
Check out this gorgeous set of holiday China I bought at a thrift store!! A full set of 8 place settings!

Don't worry, I washed them thoroughly... And so did my mom! Haha

On the following day, we went to see Carly in her Christmas pageant. It was super cute. My sister's kids favorite part was the cake and juice after... Particularly my her son... As soon as his sister turned her head, he went in for the kill! Lol

After the pageant we packed up and drove out to Frankfort, IL. This is one of my favorite places. Cutest little town with cute shops and restaurants. We walked around, ate some BBQ, and did a bit of shopping! My dad took the opportunity to show off his moves in the town square.

The next evening we bundled up and headed to the parking lot of our local Happy Foods for a sleigh ride to view Christmas lights! The kids snacked on cookies and hot chocolate and hung out with the many animals at the petting zoo! I saw so many people I knew and it was fun to see everyone with their kids. We waited and waited. The line was long, but it was so fun and worth it!

My wonderful co-workers and I had a fun girls night out! We created super cute terrariums at Carbon Arc for Plant Nite. I had been dying to do this! It did not disappoint! Sooo fun! I highly recommend it for a girls night or even a date night. It was one of my first nights away from baby by myself.

Last weekend my husband and I left the baby with his mom and headed to a holiday party at my sisters house. I missed her terribly, but we had a great time hanging out. It seems that we never stay out past 10pm... We are like old people... But I really hate being away from her for to long and considering I am still breastfeeding, it just makes sense that we never stay out to late.

The next morning I dressed up baby in a cute little outfit and headed out to meet friends and their babies at brunch with Santa. What a fun day that was! These were the girls I went to college with and had some of the most fun times in my life with. Never did I think we would be the group sharing fun mommy dates. It truly was such a wonderful day!

Our final fun December even was my husband's family Christmas for his moms side. This was a gathering of a large group of adults, children, and an appearance by Santa. Everyone wanted to hold the baby so Brandon and I were free to walk around and relax. I found myself making repeat stops to the dessert area... Maybe I would have been better off holding baby so that my hands were full and I couldn't keep shoveling snacks down my throat. Haha

Brynne didn't make a peep all night. She was a perfect little angel.

The first half of December was just delightful! Everything I could have dreamed of.
Unfortunately, the second half is turning out to be less than perfect considering I will be forced to have an unexpected surgery in few weeks. I keep telling myself, I won't let this get me down. Stay tune for the deets!

Happy Holidays to all!!!
